Have a passion for helping others, teaching, and learning.
Answer incoming telephone calls on multi-line telephone system in a prompt, friendly and professional manner.
Greet clients and visitors in a prompt, friendly and professional manner.
Schedule appointments and surgical procedures.
Confirm appointments and follow-up with clients regarding missed appointments.
Check in patients and escort clients and patients into exam rooms.
Maintain client contact through telephone calls, email, or text message.
Evaluate prescription refill requests for appropriate doctor approval and processing.
Record and maintain appropriate patient information to ensure proper billing.
Discharge patients and collect payments for services.
As instructed by doctor, provide client education via handouts and/or instructions as needed.
Accurately transcribe information regarding patients and/or clients for computerized medical records.
Communicate all information from clients accurately and effectively to doctors and/or other staff members.
Communicate with clients with regard to estimates for treatments and/or procedures and acquire consent.
Communicate with clients regarding post-operative care and follow-up status of patients.
Maintain clinic website and Facebook page.
Including special promotions, events, etc.
Develop and implement marketing and promotion campaigns, both in-house and working with vendors.
Performs clinic housekeeping duties and stocks supplies as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education/Training:
Degree:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
College courses or CE seminars helpful.
Attends regular Continuing Educations seminars.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees of the clinic.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to use a multi-function calculator.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer/Office Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of veterinary practice management software such as Idexx Cornerstone or similar products.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows based applications such as Word and Excel and familiarity with using the internet is also helpful.
The ability to operate a multi-line telephone system, copy machine, scanner, and process credit and debit card and Care Credit transactions both in person and over the phone is also necessary.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee can occasionally be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of radiation.
Some employees are also required to use/handle sharps such as needles, scalpel blades and glass slides.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally, when working in the kennel area, the noise level can be higher.
In such situations, personal protective equipment is available to all employees.
Physical Demands:
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand; use hands and talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
